[Researcher Note: My mother Anne Reynolds spent many a lovely day with her "Uncle Am and Aunt Carrie" and cousins. Her stories were peppered with the delights of a full table for dinner, fresh lemonade cooled in the ice house down in the spring box and the good company of family.

A nephew of Amzira and Carrie recently wrote to me, and he had these gentle words of remembrance: "I too remember Uncle Am & Aunt Carrie. She was my favorite of all the "old" folks"...I still remember her beautiful smile & warm hugs. She always talked us kids before she would even speak to our parents. Uncle Am had a dry wit, did not say much, but he did tease us boys a lot. He kept bees at our place when daddy had a peach & apple orchard... Of course, being rowdy was not a problem with Aunt Carrie around....she always said "let play...they will work it out." She was so sweet & had such a presence that no one ever 2nd guessed her. Even after we got home no reprimands ever came. A real "angel."]
