Betty Alice (Reynolds) Head (1887-1979)

Betty Alice was born April 20, 1887 in Tennessee to Clarasa Ann (Reavis) and Amzira Anthony Reynolds.

On October 16, 1905 Betty married Joseph Elijah Head. Joseph was born 30 Oct 1882 in Bedford County, Tennessee to Buena Vista (Gambill) and Henry Wise Head.

Joseph and Betty's children included:

  • Clarasa E Head
    Clarasa was born abt 1907 in Tennessee... presumably Bedford County. She married a Snowden and then later Paul Wilkinson. She has one daughter [presumably living, likely in California].

  • Henry Head
    Henry was born abt 1911 in Bedford County, Tennessee. He married and had at least two children.

  • Emma Lou Head
    Emma Lou was born 15 Jul 1912 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee. She married Harry Earnest Rapp (most likely in Oklahoma). Harry was born 9 Aug 1907 in Indian City, Payne, Oklahoma to Ida Elizabeth (Winston) and George Earnest Rapp. They had at least two [living] daughters.

  • Joseph Elijah Head
    Joseph Elijah head was born about 1917, presumably in Bedford County, Tennessee. He was listed with his parents and siblings on the 1920 census in Shelbyville, Bedford, Tennessee.

  • Charles A. Head
    Charles was born 4 Oct 1919 in Bedford County, Tennessee. Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army on 30 Jan 1941 and served in the Army Air Corps. He flew B-51 Bombers. He died September 26, 1943, of wounds received in action, in Italy. Charles is listed in the Chronicles of Oklahoma, Oklahoma War Memorial -- World War II, Part IV, page 248.

  • Betty Jean Head
    There is no other known information about Betty. It is assumed she was born in the 1920's in Bedford County, Tennessee. Or possibly that she was born between censuses but did not survive to the next census.

  • Oren Head
    There is no other known information about Oren. It is assumed he was born in the 1920's in Bedford County, Tennessee. Or possibly that he was born between censuses but did not survive to the next census.

Elijah died on the 13th of May 1931. It is unknown where he died. Betty Alice passed away in September 1979 in Meeker, Lincoln County, Oklahoma at the age of 92. She is buried in Meeker, Lincoln, Oklahoma.
