Ida Mae (Reynolds) Head (18891973)

Ida Mae was born 26 Mar 1889 in Petersburg, Lincoln County, Tennessee to Clarasa Ann (Reavis) and Amzira Anthony Reynolds.

On November 2, 1914, Ida married Newsom H. Head in Shelbyville, Bedford, Tennessee. Newsom was born on the 2nd of September in Richmond Ridge, Bedford, Tennessee to Lydia Caroline (Gambille) and James Riggs Head.

Ida and Newsom raised their family primarily in Bedford County. Their children included:

James W Head (1916-1923)
James was born 5 Jan 1916 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. At only 7 years of age, James died in Lewisburg, Marshall, Tennessee. He is buried in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Ella Mae Head (1917-)
Ella Mae was born 8 Jul 1917 in Bedford County, Tennessee. She married James Madison Smith 28 Sep 1950 and they had three daughters and one son.
Jannie Ruth Head (1919-)
Jannie was born 18 Jul 1919 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. Jannie married Oscar Douglas Reese in Lincoln County, Tennessee on 15 Jul 1939. Together they had four children. Oscar Douglas was born 4 Oct 1914 in Charity, Tennessee and passed away 26 Sep 1967 in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

Their son Gerald Dean Reese was born 17 Feb 1942 in Lewisburg, Marshall, Tennessee and passed away 20 Feb 1993 in Lewisburg, Marshall, Tennessee.

Douglas Wayne Reese was born 18 May 1940 in Lewisburg, Marshall, Tennessee and passed away there on 23 Nov 1965.
Harold Head
Harold was born 3 May 1922 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. He died 5 Nov 1948.
Newsom H Head Jr. (1924-1945)
Newsom Jr. was born 7 Sep 1925 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. He married Beatrice Curtis, but was soon sent overseas to serve in World War II. Newsom Jr. was shot down over Germany on 24 Mar 1945, never having the chance to see his son. Newsom Sr is buried in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Newsom H Head III was born 1 May 1945, just weeks after his father died. Newsom III died on 30 Jul 1993 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee at a young 48 years of age.
Alice Frances Head (1927-)
Alice was born 30 Apr 1927 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. She married Lenore "Lannie" A. Whitson 30 Aug 1947 in Anderson County, Tennessee. Alice and Lannie had two children.
Hazel Ann Head (1929-)
Hazel was born 29 Jun 1929 in Pleasant Grove, Bedford County, Tennessee. Hazel was known by the family name of "Sug".

Hazel married [unknown] Willis. [Note: His first name may have been Peter.] Hazel had at least one child.

Henry Newsom Sr. died on October 8, 1959 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee. Ida Mae passed away September 1st 1973 in Shelbyville. Both Ida Mae and Newsom Sr. are buried in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.
