The Children of Amelia (Raesler) and Frank Welch:

Roy Eugene Welch

Roy Eugene Welch (1893-1982)

Roy Eugene Welch was born June 4, 1893 in Creede, Mineral County, Colorado to Frank George Welch and Amelia Pauline Raesler.

Frank and Amelia Welch moved into a two room rock and mud house 21 miles west of Campo, Colorado. Frank Welch added to this house four more rooms and a front and back porch. Around it was his many rock collections. Beautiful yellow roses bloomed abundantly in the yard. It became the family ranch house. As the children reached twenty one, they all homesteaded around the ranch until they owned a very large cattle ranch (the family livelihood).

Roy was briefly married to Rose Johnson. [Note: The following note was attached to Nellie Fry and Doug Welch's family tree regarding Roy and Rose:] "Rose had two children, Leon and(?); however, there were no children with Rose's union with Roy. They divorced after several years. Life on the old Welch Ranch was not for Rose! Rose and the boys had come from Stuttgard Arkansas before meeting Roy."

Roy continued to live on the Welch family ranch, running cattle and sheep. He had a foreman named John who helped Roy with the ranch.

Roy passed away December 14, 1982 in Canon City, Fremont County, Colorado and is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado.

Frank and Amelia Welch then moved into a two room rock and mud house 21 miles west of Campo, Colorado. Frank Welch added to this house four more rooms and a front and back porch. Around it was his many rock collections. Beautiful yellow roses bloomed abundantly in the yard. It became the family ranch house. As the children reached twenty one, they all homesteaded around the ranch until they owned a very large cattle ranch.

Alonzo or "Lon" married Ethel Marie Johnson, the daughter of Bessie (James) and George Johnson. She was born November 20, 1907 in Oklahoma.
