Mission Meals

Mission meals were available to anyone staying at the mission. Breakfast and dinner usually consisted of "atole." Atole is a hot cereal or porridge. It can be made out of many ground, roasted grains, such as wheat/corn/oats. It can even be made out of nuts (i.e. Pine nuts) which are mashed into a mush.

The main meal of the day at the Mission was Lunch -- and the usual food being prepared was "pozole." Pozole is a stew which often has a corn or hominy base and has chopped up meats and chopped up vegetables added to it.
